On Thursday, Hinds County, Mississippi, District 2 Supervisor David Archie said he is sending letters to the state and National Democratic Parties demanding Democratic Executive Committee Chair Jacqueline Amos and her secretary to resign for allegedly engaging in voter fraud to stop his re-election bid and help his primary opponent.

According to WLBT 3, Hinds County held its Democratic primary on August 8, and Archie lost his re-election bid by almost 1,900. In a press conference at the Hinds County Election Commission headquarters, Archie said, "We believe and we have evidence that Jacquie Amos is tampering with the Hinds County elections."

He provided reporters with a copy of "the information in her conspiracy correspondence" concerning the election and said, "We have videotape of Jacquie Amos going into boxes, bringing in thumb drives, bringing in ballots to be inserted into machines." He continued, “We have pictures of Jacquie Amos participating in what we think is fraud, as well as corruption.”

On the sheet given to reporters, Archie shared a picture of a text message conversation which he says supports his claim. An unknown sender tells Amos, "Hey, don't let them cheat Debroha Dixon out of her election. She won fair and square."

Amos allegedly responded, "She won. But I'm going to f**k David Archie on the site!!!"

Archie said of the message, "The bottom line is that we have the text, she’s the chairperson, she’s the one that’s responsible." He added, "She must be impartial to any and all elections here in Hinds County and this does not speak that she was being impartial to an election.”

Taylor Pedigo, a District 2 resident, spoke at the press conference in support of Archie. She said, “I was watching the election numbers come in and immediately I knew that something funny was going on, that this man that I had never heard of, that I had never seen a yard sign of... came out the gate with a huge lead."

“This leads me to believe that this needs further investigation," Pedigo added.

Cynthia Walker, who helped with the ballot recount for the primary, alleged that many of the safeguards that are used to ensure secure and accurate elections were not used.

Amos said in an email statement to the outlet, "The Hinds County Democratic Executive Committee conducted the August 8 Democratic Primary in keeping with applicable state law." She noted, “The executive committee has canvassed the returns and certified the results of the August 8 primary. Those results speak for themselves.”
